Traditionally to decorate the homes of the European aristocracy, wall upholstery remains an art form. The homes of the wealthy in the 18th century had great interiors with fabric wall coverings, curtains, and furniture blending together. This art flourished in the 17th century, as wall hangings or tapestries became richer, furniture developed in tandem. From this century onwards the need for removable tapestries slowly disappeared; walls were then covered with permanent or fixed hangings, woven damask, watered silk, and many other lighter fabrics.
Whether you’ve got an existing wall which needs restoring and recovering or feel inspired to install an upholstered wall of your own we undertake both. Marrying the best from the traditional craft with modern techniques and processes this is decadent, stylish and makes a statement.
